Malisa Price, MA, LMHC, FDN-P

Your functional medicine practitioner

Basically, I’m just like you:

Someone who wants to feel heard and feel better

Malisa Price, reading a functional medicine book

Because life is meant to be enjoyed, not endured.

In my practice, I’ve adopted the effective mix of modern science and ancient wisdom. I focus on a whole-body systems approach that looks at genetics, lifestyle, and environment. I will provide you with a personalized approach to optimize your health and vitality, using the latest advancements in integrative medical science while prioritizing your unique needs.

As your devoted functional medicine practitioner, I’m not here to scold you for eating a donut (that’s my weakness too 😊). I’m here to help you understand, nourish, and support your body — so you can live your life to the fullest.

If you want to feel better…

Your body needs the best natural support.

Malisa Price, smiling on a stool

Here’s the hard truth: We live in a toxic world.

From the foods we eat to the products we use, our bodies are bombarded every day with toxins that drag us down and make us feel blah.

If you want your body to truly feel better from the inside out, you need a holistic approach that takes into account all the factors of your health.

…Which is where I, your functional medicine practitioner, come in.

My approach

Do you want a functional medicine practitioner who has a person-centered approach? Who intuitively listens to you, appreciates the uniqueness of your situation, takes the time to explain things to you thoroughly and transparently, and treats you exactly how she would want to be treated?

You won’t find an “out of sight, out of mind” practitioner with me. I will always do my best to recommend the minimal protocol without compromising your care. If I believe you can be better helped by someone else, I will refer you to the appropriate specialist. This is my standard for you.

  • Malisa Price, MA, LMHC, FDN-P has years of clinical experience in autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, PTSD, and other mental illnesses, as well as integrative health and nutrition. She was a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman with certifications ranging from Expeditionary Medicine – Tactical Combat Casualty Care / Field Skills to Hospital Medicine – Medication Administration. She has extensive training in natural medicine, alternative wellness, diagnostic training with scientific functional labs, wellness protocols, amino acid therapy, digestive issues, autoimmune, and drainage and detoxification. She continues to see amazing change in individuals who have applied supplementation and nutrition for chronic health conditions. Malisa is passionate about teaching others about prevention and that we aren’t diagnosing and managing symptoms — we are balancing and correcting our foundation for real healing to occur.

  • My training and practice in the mental health field has been another major reason I pivoted my career to functional wellness.

I spent years in school learning to diagnose, label, and treat, with very little consideration of the patient’s diet. There was no education on genetics or nutrition.

While I have seen antidepressants make a huge difference for some, and I do believe there is a place for conventional medicine, it shouldn't be the only consideration.

In my mental health practice, I had several individuals and families who didn't want harsh medication with possible side effects. I realized the therapeutic tools I had were very limited and often offered only temporary relief, not a more permanent solution. How beneficial functional labs would have been to those families and individuals!

I see this happening now in my functional wellness practice, and it is profound. Working with addictions, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and more, I see that all of these are impacted by our genetics, gut health, HPA Axis, and nutrition.

Mental health illness, similar to other chronic illnesses, often involves the whole system — which is what I address here at Wildflower Functional Wellness.

But beyond all of that…

I am simply a mom.

A mom of three boys who all had chronic illnesses, including seizures, POTS, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Hirschsprung's disease, and autism.

A mom who spent their entire childhoods dealing with doctor’s offices, diagnoses, pharmaceuticals, and an endless cycle of trial and error.

A mom whose concerns were repeatedly not taken seriously, whose bank account was being drained, and who continued to watch her boys suffer.

Let me tell you, there is no better motivation than a mother with sick children.

I eventually took my boys’ health into my own hands and began researching holistic care. I was astounded by what I learned about the body’s ability to heal itself with proper nutrition and support.

With the help of our own functional medicine practitioners, my family finally began to see major breakthroughs — all without expensive medications, questionable supplements, or unnecessary surgeries.

Now, I’m on a mission to help other families like mine.

Your body wants to heal.

It simply needs the right support.

If you feel disappointed by the care you’ve received in the past, don’t lose heart. Your body is a complex, intelligent system that is capable of healing itself with natural, science-based protocols — I promise.

I would love to teach you everything I’ve learned about holistic health in my 20+ years of experience. Together, we will figure out what your body needs and put you on the path to wellness.
